Charlie's isn't just a restaurant with a tap. It's a full-scale brewery, pouring craft favourites right where they're made. Try the Harbour American Pale Ale.

Poetic Licence Gin

Our own gin. It's distilled in Cape Town and comes home to Port Owen to be bottled here at the Brewhouse. Same product, same brand, same heart. Have a classic G&T or ask about the seasonal gin specials.

Our story

Russell's Brewhouse

“I could not think of a better place to launch Charlie's Brewhouse, or of a better spot to sit and enjoy a craft beer and a delicious meal, looking out over the water, watching the boats go by and relaxing with friends and family.”

Russell Foster, owner

Russell came to Port Owen from the UK in 2006 and never left. Beyond the Brewhouse he's behind the FDSA soup kitchen, Grace Medical Centre, St Christopher's Church, Amelia's Haven and Velddrif Animal Care.
